| WHY FAMILIES WORK TOGETHER TO GIVE NEW DRIVERS COLLISION-FREE DRIVING SKILLS | Parents and Teens across America are taking the responsibility of learning to drive personally. Teens want to become safe, collision-free drivers and they believe they can keep from becoming an accident statistic. There are several reports regarding national statistics in all categories of teen drivers. What they all have in common is their results show a high risk of being involved in an accident during the first year of driving. There are several factors which cause these terrible statistics: immaturity resulting in risky driving practices, inexperience in recognizing and responding to hazards, and young passengers in the vehicle creating distractions a young driver is not ready to handle. Enough already, you know the problems and are here visiting our site to find a solution. You know the minimal requirements by your state are not adequate for all new drivers. In many states the requirements include a permit or leaner stage, usually a minimum of 6 months. It is during this stage you have the opportunity to make a difference, to gain confidence both as a teen driver and as a concerned parent. | |
| "It was an extremely informative and helpful program. The instructions were very clear and detailed. The tapes were very useful. The step-by-step coaching was very helpful. They helped remove much of the anxiety in teaching my teen how to drive. Gave me many tips on how to be a more effective teacher and a better driver. They were also entertaining!" Annie Ballatore, Houston, Texas | | | "Excellent. Busy parents like myself need the assistance of your materials. Also they teach the parent to be an effective instructor. Audiotapes very useful. Just because we care does not make us parents good instructors. Telling us how to plan & communicate correctly is a big help." J.S., Arlington, Texas | |
| THE PARENT/TEEN ADVANTAGE | You both care. You both have knowledge of your family schedule and can fit in all the time needed to master the various phases of becoming a new driver. And you both will agree on when you are ready to move through the various driving areas. | | | THE PARENT ADVANTAGE | You will be comfortable knowing your teens driving ability. You will know someone who really cares and was not on a time frame to complete the job and get to the next student, taught your teen. You will become a better driver yourself by relearning and using techniques you may have forgotten over the years. | |
| "My in-vehicle training experience was awesome! I loved getting to know how to drive. Also, learning how to maneuver and cooperate with others on the road. The most helpful parts of this program were the videos. Actually "seeing" the correct way to drive and what to do in specific situations was really helpful. I felt so excited when I realized that I was a courteous driver." B.B., Pasadena, Texas | | | THE TEEN ADVANTAGE | You will be confident with your driving ability. You will demonstrate collision free habits when you drive because they have become just that - habits. You will know you have learned much more than many of your friends who only took a traditional driving school - their total experience behind the wheel only enabled them to move a car and merely touched on the techniques in collision-free driving you have learned from the Driver Ed In A Box® course. | |
| WHICH PRODUCT BEST FITS MY NEEDS? | Primarily it depends on your state and your goal. We suggest you Select Your State if you have any questions in regards to what is required in your state. We recommend either the Interactive version or the Text Book version. The full course includes: Classroom Portion: - 350 page text book (included in its entire format on the Interactive CD)
- The Student Workbook (has the tests and helpful hints for the student), the Parent Companion with the text version also has the answers to the test. On the Interactive CD the tests are embedded in the program, the student takes the quiz or test and the computer tells them if correct. The parent simply goes to the back file log to check the time spent on the chapter or section and the outcome of the test.
- Training Video includes 17 short videos, 15 of these videos from the perspective of the parent and teen actually working together in the vehicle. Helps both parent and teen in communicating and goal setting over the course of the program. The videos integrate seamlessly with the classroom and behind the wheel portions.
Behind the Wheel portion: - The Parent Companion, spiral bound book with all the tools to assist in-vehicle as you train your new driver in the habits of collision-free driving! (The version for the textbook course has the answers for the tests, the version with the interactive CD does not need them). You get guidelines on proceeding through the course, checklists, driving logs, coaching tips, diagrams and a glossary of commentary terms.
- The 3 Audio CDs giving helpful hints on each training phase. These Audio CDs guide you through the in-car lessons from beginning to end!
- Set of 2 Training Mirrors which provide you a rear view and a clear view of the teenager's eyes!

IMPORTANT NOTICE!!! DRIVER ED IN A BOX ISSUES A CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION WITH THE FULL COURSE (EITHER INTERACTIVE CD OR TEXT)! DEPENDING ON YOUR STATE OR YOUR INSURANCE CARRIER YOU MAY QUALIFY FOR AN INSURANCE DISCOUNT BY PRESENTING CERTIFICATE TO YOUR INSURANCE AGENT. | - If your state requires Driver Education but does not approve a parent taught course, you are probably aware the traditional Driver Education programs are set with demanding schedules and minimal actual behind the wheel experience. In most states there is usually less than 8 hours of actual behind the wheel driving required for the program to be approved. Usually there is another 6 to 8 hours of observing another driver included in the in car experience. The state knows this is inadequate in most cases and that is the reason most states have a required permit time.
- If your state has no Driver Education requirement (there are several states which do not require Driver Education), we recommend Driver Ed In A Box®. The first Classroom portion will help prepare you for the written exam you will need to pass to get your permit, secondly it will give the teen driver the thought process behind the instructions for the behind the wheel training. If you feel your teen driver knows the laws and has studied your states driver handbook then the Behind The Wheel course may be all you need.
