| Summary of Tennessee Graduated Licensing Law
|
(detailed chart bottom of this page)
Tennessee has a three stage licensing process for minors.
- Learners License (at least age 15) We recommend
our Driver Ed in a Box® to use during the Learner stage.
Shows the parent how to teach collision-free driving habits and
provides unique teaching tools (mirrors, checklists, videos, audio
instruction series, etc.)
- Intermediate License (ages 16 - 17)
- Regular License (age 17 if has had license at least 6 months)
|
| Teens want to know how to stay out of collisions!
|
| Todays teens do not just want their license;
they want to be good collision-free drivers. They know the risks.
Virtually all have friends who got a license and were involved in
a collision in the first four weeks. Most teens have lost classmates
due to fatal collisions. |

Certificate
of Completion! |
Our product now includes both the Interactive CD-Rom Version and the Textbook Version for one low price. You may use either version to complete the course at your own pace.
|
| Teens want to know "why"
the things you ask them to do will work. |
When you complete the full course
you get a Certificate of Completion.
Take this to your insurance agent. It varies state by state and by
insurance company, but you may receive an insurance discount. |
| Using the full course your teen will learn
why each step is important while learning the collision-free
HABITS that
make you a better driver. The full course also includes a section
on Social & Consumer Issues. This includes how alcohol and drugs
as well as emotions and attitude affect driving performance. Also
covered are vehicle ownership (buying, leasing, insuring, and maintaining). |
| Over 15,000
students have used Driver Ed in a Box®. |

"I liked your section on saving
gas. It was cool to hear the different ways that it is effected.
I'll make sure to get rid of any excess weight in my truck. This
section really got me thinking on how I can save gas and re-fuel
less. The way that you gradually get the student on the road and
into traffic is great. It's a good system and give the student enough
time and experience to drive on his own." - J.N., Franklin,
Tennessee
"Gave me something solid to use towards my child's driver
training. Especially liked having all training techniques clear
and easy to teach." - Parent, Tullahoma, Tennessee |
| |
"Excellent. The program
stresses being a collision-free driver rather than just learning
to manipulate the vehicle. Every part of the program brought out
this factor." - G.W., Knoxville, Tennessee
"I had been driving for a little over a year when I took this
class. ...I thought I knew everything about driving, but Driver
Ed in a Box helped me realize that I really didn't know that much.
This class has changed my whole driving method and I am very glad
I took Driver Ed in a Box. It was a very helpful and useful class."
- Student, Nashville, TN
"Driver Ed in a Box is excellent. It helped remind me what
to teach in-vehicle that I no longer consciously think about. It
also helped to organize instruction." - C.C., Maryville,
Tennessee |
|
"My experience on in-vehicle
training has been more than interesting. When I first started, I
aggravated my parents with my quick stops and jerky steering, but
as much as we hated it, I had to practice, practice, practice. Eventually
my braking and steering became smooth and hardly noticeable. Some
techniques took me days to master, and others just a few hours.
I am truly thankful for this curriculum. It has helped to develop
safer driving skills." - Student, Tullahoma, Tennessee
"Driver Ed in a Box covered all the basics and much, much,
more." - Clark Collins, Nashville, Tennessee |
