| Summary of Idaho Graduated Licensing Law |
(detailed chart bottom of this page) Idaho
has a three stage licensing process for minors.
- Learners License (at least age 15). Under 17 must complete
drivers training program. While enrolled in training program,
permits are valid only to operate a vehicle with a driver training
instructor for 6 hours behind-the-wheel training
- When drivers training program completed and instructor
has signed the permit, begin minimum 4 month supervised instruction
period required by Idahos Graduated Drivers License
(GDL) program. Must accumulate at least 50 hours supervised driving
time, ten hour at night. We recommend our Driver Ed in
a Box® to use during the Learner stage. Shows the parent how
to teach collision-free driving habits and provides unique teaching
tools (mirrors, checklists, videos, audio instruction series,
etc.).
- Regular License - Under 17 years of age must successfully complete
an approved drivers training program and complete minimum
4 month, violation-free supervised instruction period.

Virtually all have friends who got a license and were involved in

"I felt Driver Ed in a Box covered
all aspects of driving. I have taught a teen to drive before without
any additional material. The teen I trained with Driver Ed in a Box
is much better prepared." - Kathryn Engen, Parent |

"This course is great and both
my parents and I feel that it covered every aspect of driving, and
we wouldn't change anything about it. It is helping me to become a
great and safe driver!" - Bradley Young, Student |
|
| "I wish this course was more
well known with the general public. It is far superior to the normal
classes that most teenagers attend. We need this course taught all
across the country. It would save lives." - Susan Lewis,
